Michelin CrossClimate 2 Extended Winter Road Test FWD Crosstour
Просмотров 87 тыс.2 года назад
Thought I would share my initial experience with Michelin’s All Weather Cross Climate 2 Tires. Drove over and through various winter conditions. I give them a 4.5 out of 5. Tires performed well in most winter conditions. Found they struggled a bit on pure Icy roads, but snow packed and even icy roads with snow on them they performed exceptionally well. I would say Ice performance is the differe...

Still doesn’t mean you can’t make quality delicious food for yourself or family. INGREDIENT LIST: I used 2 7 ounce cans of tuna packed in water 1 15oz can of mushro...

Interesting test but that strange wheezing between sentences makes him sound like a serial killer
Do they still perfom well after many mile
I’m at the end of my third winter with these and they’ve held up very well, still have excellent tread, there may be some slight snow and ice performance degradation, the traction control comes on a little more often than before, but other than that I’ve gotten around pretty well, probably have over 35,000 miles on them. Tread depth is still excellent. Wet and slush performance is still excellent. No regrets
@@raynman67 do you use them all year round? Summer heat included? Thanks
I thought that only Nokian Seasonproof could drive in such difficult conditions...
Wouldn’t know
U still using that tyres instead of Winter dedicated tyres?
Yes on my third winter with them. Still performing well
Yeah, im gonna go eat
Where Is this spot
Beaver Creek Rose Bowl, it’s a good warm up run
Best test ever greeting from warm Naples Italy
Thanks! Greetings from Eagle CO
I considered CC2 but they would be too close in role to my dedicated set of Blizzaks DMV2. I opted to get longer lasting, quieter, better dry/wet grip Defender 2 for my 9 - 10 months out of the year. I can quickly swap tires out at the first forecast of snow/ice. So if it's a warm winter I don't bother swapping out. Takes me about 1.5 hrs to get them out, air them up evenly and then swap them out for both our vehicles. Air compressor with impact makes short work of it.
Nice 👍 I don’t have the storage space for an extra set of tires which is why these works for me
Thanks for the test, i live in south 🇨🇭. No snow or maxium 5/10 days a year but steep climbs and descents, how do they perform on compact snowy climb and descents? Ill buy a set on monday. I had never saw street whit more than a inch of snow. Im going to buy just i case i get cought in a snow fall but also we have 35º plus celsius in summer
They do really well on snowpack, it’s icy conditions where they tend to struggle a tad, but once your going on icy roads they handle well if that makes sense. But snow packed roads, starting and stopping isn’t really a problem
@@raynman67 thanks mate
Excellent real world review sans glitz, stupid music and a loud overbearing personality. Good job. I just bought these tires and they're amazing. You have officially blown away the so called "professionals" on RUclips by mentioning the most important aspect of good tires...the ability to stop. Going forward is not as important.
Well appreciate most of your comment 😂glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment. Not sure any music was in the video, but I agree braking is the most important, but also just taking your foot off the gas earlier is helpful in winter conditions. Stop slowing down earlier than you would in dryer conditions !
Thanks for the review of the CC2’s . Placed my order today.
Recently put CC2’s on my ‘24 Rolla se. 205/55-R16 with steelies. These tires are awesome in snow, rain and dry pavement!
Thank you so much bro !!! Excelent video !!! Take care.
Appreciate it!!
why u moaning at every spoken word ?
Why are you moaning about people moaning ?
Love those squeaky wiper blades

We live 5 miles from town on a private road that we have to plow and maintain ourselves. We get 5-7 feet of snow every winter. We had Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires installed on both our Outback and Forester. Our Subaru’s have awesome traction, even on the factory tires, but the Cross Climate 2 tires Rock. They’re Awesome on dry, wet, slushy, snowy, logging and forest roads. We recommend them to anyone who will listen to us.
Agree excellent in slushy wet roads, average on ice
Doesn’t matter how far you’re driving especially in the snow wear your seatbelt
You are Correct
Every positive commenter to this video is sleep-walking
😢
You don't wear a seatbelt because you're only going a short distance? You did not go very far in school, correct? Great thing about 'Murica is even dumb*sses can afford Michelins.
Nice video! Do you find any change in mpg with these?
Maybe a MPG, once they broke in seemed like it recovered it. Certainly not enough that I wouldn’t buy them again
I bought these 1 week ago for my 2010 honda civic. I wanted to know how they would do in snow.
So far they have done very well… Tyre Reviews also has a more data based comparison between these and the IceX. Worth a watch
Bro, are you breathing alright?
I get these on my Jeep Cherokee next Saturday. I'm so excited! Now maybe I'll be able to bump the speed up to 25 in the snow instead of 20!!!!
I see now that you didn't make yr car completely snowfree, also yr backlights are not to be seen. and through yr backwindow you cannot see anything.
Not sure at any point in time do have a view out my rear window, which by the way is completely snow free, any snow that might be on it is snow accumulated as I’m driving around because DUH it’s snowing outside. 3:10
One remark: Did you make yr car completely ice and snow free? Not only the front window but also the side and backwindow? I did not see that in this video.Important !!!
Yup very important, I hate seeing people driving around with 2 feet of snow on there car, or don’t defrost their windows before driving peeping out a tiny hole they cleared out.
Best tires I’ve owned. They go through the western Canadian snow with no problem. I’m really surprised at how quick the car can stop. The tires dig right in. The only worry I have is, what kind of tires are the other people driving on. I can stop, can they?
Now I just gotta find them. Sold out everywhere in Canada lol.
Appreciate the video bro thank you! I also live in CO, and I am driving on 70 and Summit County a lot during winter. How do you feel about them in dryer condition on the highway? Try to get CrossClimate 2 because my Pilotsport 4 A/S is almost worn out in only 30k, and it's not performing very well in winter conditions. Hopefully CrossClimate 2 is worth the buy.
Well I’m going into my third season, dry roads feels really good, you might notice a little noise at first, probably as with any new tire, done a couple 3000+ road trips on them and did really well, averaged 30.5 miles per gallon from Eagle to Pittsburgh PA, pretty good for a V6. Car does have VCM so a good part of the time it’s running on 3 cylinders. Best tire I’ve had on wet roads. Just guessing cause my receipt from the tires isn’t handy, I’ve got about 30K to 35k on them and still have tons of tread life left.
Better than job of 99% of ‘professional’ reviewers on RUclips. Spot on, just a lot of driving and commenting on sensations during real time driving. Good job.
Thanks appreciate the kind feedback
How is the road noise?
Not to bad. Louder New than a few months driving on them. But going into my 3rd season can’t say I really notice them at all. Whether that’s me adapting or quieter after some wear? Probably a bit of both. Can live with it considering performance.
think these will be my next 7 months of the year tire and run winters for the other 5 months. have always ran winters and all seasons but these look much better for dealing with fall and spring in Canada. I often run my winters 6 months of the year to deal with early and late storms.
The primary reason I went with these was to avoid keeping 2 sets of tires and changing them in the spring/fall
Thank you ❤
Your Welcome!
I have been using them for over 2 1/2 years now on my 16 toyota Camry Hybrid and they are the absolute best in snow. All front wheel drive. I have had just once in my parking space due to ice slip me into the small gutter up against the sidewalk. No fault of the tires it is total wet ice underneath the snow. My 1st set I bought for $138 bucks and now I need a new full set for the next upcoming winter and tires stores wanted upwards of $1,100 bucks for a set as high as $250 bucks plus another almost $150 just for them to put it on. I did buy them this time, but from Costco! a total of $756 bucks. No addition fees whatsoever! The downside is they are slow getting the tires and putting them on. Taking almost 2 weeks! They will do repairs, but what a wait.
Yeah, but your saving almost $500 from I’m reading. Worth a wait
Seems to be great tires from all the RUclips reviews I've seen. So I'm looking to get them put on my son's 2013 V6 Accord. We live in Central Jersey and we get our fair share of snow. Nothing like where you're at, but it's more like a Black Ice on the roadways is what we get. So these should come in handy. And with the discounts that I'm seeing at Costco's and BJ's, the price is similar to some, (all be it good) cheaper tires. You can't go wrong I guess. Great review. Give us a sense of how these tires handle in the snow. I just got the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4's put on about a week ago and have put on like 200 miles. They feel good compared to the Toyo's I had. For me it was a toss up between these an and the Pilot Sports. Decide to go with the Pilot Sports because I don't drive that much in inclement weather and they were about $$150-200 cheaper for my 2019 Mazda CX GTR. But for my son who does more driving, I would like the safest tire I could get. Once again, great review. Best of luck!
Thanks for the input, not everyone needs these types of tires, After using for 20,000 plus miles I’m most impressed by the wet road performance, so if you live in an area that receives a lot of rain, these tires would be a good option.
Best Driving Demonstration of these tires I've seen thanks Getting mine fitted tomorrow to my Honda CR-V AWD ready for The Scottish Highland Winter 😉
Glad it was Helpful!
I’ve already ordered these! This and other reviews confirmed my decision to buy.
Awesome! I think you’ll love em
Quit groaning
As you groan about groaning, brilliant 🙄
@@raynman67 you cant groan over comments fool.
Hugely impressive for a 2WD car
I’ve always had Front wheel drive cars for everyday drivers, as long as you have good snow tires or in this case 4 season tires you really don’t need AWD.
So why were you parked in a EV charging spot? How would you like to pull up to your local gas station and an electric car was parked in front of the fuel pump? Weather is no excuse buddy.
Because it’s private property and we own the EV charging station, so If I want to park in the EV spot that we own than that’s my prerogative. Thanks for playing
@raynman67 So how much money did your state help you pay for that set up to "Green Wash" your company then. State rebates, utility grants or federal tax credits for those chargers?
@@robert5008 0 and beyond that I know exactly who and when whomever owns an EV needs the charging station. These are level 1 charging stations. At best they add 2-4 miles of driving per hour. If I show up to work and need gas to go 2-4 miles, first I’m a pretty irresponsible person but where is my gas pump space that I can occupy for an hour or more to get me to the gas station. Oh and they are free to use. Were are the free to use gas pumps? So what if a EV that has plenty of charge but just want the convenience of parking in the spot shows up, parks all day and EV that needs a charge is unable to use the spot because it’s being occupied by an EV that’s near fully charged. Thats the actual reality of who parks in the EV spots. So maybe you should address that problem first because I’m occupying the space because I know for a fact that no one needs the spot, and it’s been my personal parking spot for over 25 years that I graciously allowed them to install EV stations at.
I have this same cooker, have used it for about 5 years, year round use in Florida. I was wondering if you still use yours. Also wondering of you realize that at the end of each sentence you say, you let out a type of grunt. Just hope you are not having trouble breathing.
Still use for larger cooks, briskets and pulled pork, roasts, anything low and slow. I use it year round as well. Also use the Weber Kettles quite a bit. Thanks for your concerns, Seems like something I do on camera more than in person. Nice Center Console. Do a lot of fishing?
The only thing is if it is really worth $180 a pop over getting $70 a pop all seasons and just struggling for a few months a year 😂
I suppose, but her we get 5 1/2 to 6 months of winter, from November to May you could get snow storms
I live In Chicago…we had 12 inches of snow overnight, and I was ‘ Plowing thru the snow like it was dry pavement, and my neighbors, we’re just spinning their tires. Best part ? You can drive all year on these tires…!
Consider this, you cheap out on tires, saving $80 - $90, but end up crashing in the winter due to cheap tires causing thousands of dollars of damage to the vehicle just because you saved a few dollars on tire price. The only contact between the car and the road are the tires, I'd buy a decent set.
Yes…Best part the Michelin cross climate 2 .. are snow rated, last 50k miles.. and because of the tire compound.. they are soft in the winter for grip, and hard in the summer, basically ‘ winter tires, you can use in the summer…These are ‘ Real ‘ All season tires… and the minimum tread depth.. still outperform the competition.
That bark is looking on point
Came out pretty Good!
These tires definitely did their job on a terrible winter drive through I-80. My mind was at peace.
👍
How is the Costco warranty? Is it worth joining? I see other shops offer warranties that cost around $100 but I feel like Costco is more reputable. I live in LA, but do weekend trips to Big Bear and Mammoth, so these will come in handy! Especially because I have a FWD vehicle. Also, THANK YOU so much for your comprehensive review! I'm getting them one way or another! ;-)
All passenger, performance and light truck tires sold through Costco Wholesale are covered by a 5-year Road Hazard Warranty*Footnote One protecting customers against tread wear damage and tire failure. Costco Wholesale will repair or replace**Footnote Twotires damaged during standard legal vehicle operation.
And you get free Rotations, fuel savings is the primary reason I joined Costco, Mind you I only live 5-10 minutes from my Costco. Costco Visa I average around $300 a year in cash back + being an executive member I get enough back to where it pays for the membership, so basically haven’t paid out of pocket for membership fees since becoming an executive member. Cost twice as much ($120) but if you shop there enough it pays for itself
@@raynman67 I live close enough, but I am a single person. I'd have to spend at least $3,000 to break even. I'm not sure I would, but it's very good food for thought! THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for the review of the tires in the snow.
No problem! Still performing pretty well in Season 2
Only thing your missing in the description is the air temp and if you have traction control on or off.
Pretty sure I talked about traction control being on and when it engaged. I always have it on in the winter
I have em on my Civic and they're amazing in snow. Good for at least 70K miles too.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
Why are you parked in an EV charging station space?
Because it’s private property, we own the EV charging systems, Thanks for attempting to virtue signal about it. Any Questions about the Tires?
Uhhhhoooo huff uhhhh sigh oooooh. Having problems with your breathing? Sounds like your sittin on the can taking a dump 😂🤣🤣🤣🙊🙉🙉
Took some engineering to replace the driver seat with a shitter. 😅
You gave them a rating of 4.5 out of what? 5, 10, 20?
In the description 4.5 out of 5
Would you buy them even if you already have dedicated winter tires knowing they'd be used mainly in the summer?
I would use the dedicated winter tires until they were worn, then I’d buy them. No sense in wasting a good tire.
@@raynman67 I think I'm going to have to get new all seasons in the spring. Any recommendation?
